Mattress Warehousing finding every excuse to give bad service
Great service on bed and loving the bed. I got told by the salesman that I should take a mattress protector otherwise I would loose out on the warranty. He did not take the product out of the packaging or tell me what material it was made from or that there were no returns on that product. I fitted to the bed and immediately discovered that the synthetic fabric made a ruffling noise when you lay on it and moved. I did not want to ruin my experience on such a beautiful bed by not sleeping(I am a light sleeper) due to a mattress protector. I took it off and put it back in the packaging unused. I returned it less than 24 hours since I received it. I got told that I could not return it. I pointed out that I was not told any of this at the time of sale as well as that there is no signage anywhere in the shop indicating this. They said they would get back to me but I must send an email to head office. They called me with the wonderful news that they would only make an exception for me this one time. Yay. But then proceeded to say that I could not get a refund but had to purchase something else in stead thereby forcing to buy another product. It doesn't end there. They then told me that there was a 10% handling fee so I could only spend a less amount. And I would loose my warranty on the bed. I am pretty sure that they tried everything in the book to avoid a refund and would rather not refund R400 odd rand and have a dissatisfied customer who has to turn to Hello Peter. I am also certain that a bunch of consumer protection act laws were broken here. I would not recommend going to Mattress Warehouse ever again.
