Unfair/Racial Treatment

My friends and I went out for Drinks at Lacuna Bistro last night (2 October 2017) to celebrate one of them turning 30. We ordered wine and started chatting. The manager on duty came to our table and told us we are loud and that there were people there having a meeting (this was around 20:00). We chose to go to the bar for a reason and not sit at the formal dining area because we were there to celebrate.

We ordered 3 bottles of the same wine and as we asked for the 4th wine, we were told that the wine was out of stock. We then ordered something which we did not enjoy but we wanted to be there a while longer and enjoy our friend's birthday.

As we were sitting having the wine, a group of white people walked in and asked for a bottle of wine. The very same bottle that we had requested and were told was "out of stock" was now available, literally 10mins later!

We asked the manager how he could do that because he was the one who served the other group and he said, all he can do is apologise. We felt really discriminated and no explanation was given to us as to why the bottle was not available to us.

Clearly we were not wanted there because firstly we were told that we were too loud, then the drink we had was suddenly not available but was available to a group of guys.

Maslow Hotel (Lacuna Bistro), should put up a sign when people walk in to say that "if you want to enjoy yourself with friends, this is not the place for you, and first preference will be given to the white people"

I am so disappointed and hurt with the treatment we got and will not be going back there. I will tell all my colleagues and friends that The Maslow hotel is the worst place to go in Sandton.
