The Logo Expert - Proceed with Caution

The Logo Expert have a professional looking site with an impressive client list and logos completed (on later investigation, this seems not to be the case). So, it was therefore natural for to get in touch. After an online enquiry, someone got back to me quickly and we discussed logo designs. The guy was charming and knew the design lingo. I was impressed enough to give them my design ideas & docs and was invoiced for 100% payment upfront. I paid 50% and never heard from them again.

I soon discovered he had blocked me on Whats App. And later, on email too, as my emails were returned. I searched for him online and on social media and discovered two company names and a few similar profiles linked to this person, as well as variations in the spelling of his own name. One company alias seems to be ‘The Logo Design Frog’, on his Behance profile. He also has an Instagram profile, no Linked In profile, no physical address and no Google reviews (face palm)! He also has different email addresses and at least two cellphone numbers. One of which was not on Whats App. The other has a cartoon ‘self-portrait’ as a profile pic.

I hope my experience can be a cautionary tale for others and prevent similar instances.
