Arrogant and aggressive owner - Lighthouse Cafe Blouberg
The staff were friendly, and the 8 coffees ordered were good. Unfortunately, the owner insisted on photographing our grandson while he was being held by a family friend. She referred him (the owner) to his father for consent, which was denied since our grandson is only 8 months old. The owner claimed that he owns the restaurant and can take photos of any clients and post them on his social media platforms as he pleases. My son politely expressed that he and his wife do not approve of their son's photo being taken and shared online, to which the owner responded that they (my son) would have to leave the restaurant. We all stood up (a family of eight) and left, but the owner then became arrogant and aggressive when we refused to comply with his unreasonable demands, labelling us as having a "typical Cape Townian attitude." Numerous other patrons were equally dismayed by his argumentative demeanour and the arrogance he displayed as we left. Many commented on his behaviour, noting similar complaints in other Google reviews regarding his treatment of customers. This known Trump supporter’s attitude towards clients is unacceptable and deserves to be boycotted. He needs to learn to respect client privacy and accept “no” for an answer, especially when it concerns the posting of photographs of infants against their parents' wishes. We will never return to this eatery.
