SHOCKING EXPERIENCE

I had an absolute SHOCKING EXPERIENCE with the owner of The Lawnmower Shop! I asked for a quotation for the replacement of 2 wheel bearings, front axle guide brackets, and a new blade. The Lawnmower Shop insisted to take my lawnmower as a sample to source the parts to compile a quotation. I asked them to not do any work before they provide me with a quotation and they agreed. They notified me telephonically that the quotation was +-R1500.00. I asked them to provide me with a quotation for the parts only which excludes labour, which reduced the quotation to R495.00. I accepted the quotation and I was told that they will start picking the parts for me to pay and collect. When I got there I was assisted by the owner who provided me with an invoice of +-R700 which included labour for stripping the lawnmower. I informed the owner that I specifically asked them to not do any work on the lawnmower and he rep**** with an extremely rude and attacking demeanor that it is not possible to quote without stripping a lawnmower. I explained to him that the parts I were looking for were visible without stripping the machine. The owner ended up screaming at me and asked how he is supposed to make any money from only selling parts. In the end he provided me with a zero invoice, kept his parts and asked me to take my machine and leave his shop, which I did gladly.

It is clear that the owner tried to take advantage of me and that he most probably does with all of his clients who might be oblivious when it comes to the equipment The Lawnmower Shop specializes in.

The owner's interaction with me was atrocious and dishonest.
