Dissapeared with inverter and unreachable

Be aware of this Company and its director, Bennie Bezuidenhout. In August 2022 my mother, an elderly lady of 74 bought a Blu-Sky 1KVA Inverter including 2 x 100/102 AH batteries from The IT Box for R12 715.00. In the first week of November 2022, the inverter failed to perform and was collected for repairs and tests by J.B. Bezuidenhout, a director of the Company. The inverter was returned on or about the 17th of November 2022, but shortly after that again failed to perform. The inverter was collected again and since my mom has been without an inverter and, more concerning, without any feedback from the Company or its director. Telephone calls are unanswered and promises of feedback are not delivered on. We delivered a letter to the Company's registered address, but despite an undertaking to answer the correspondence, nothing was forthcoming.

In light of all the above and the fact that my mom may have to exercise her rights in terms of the Consumer Protection Act and return the inverter should it not be repaired to her satisfaction we requested the following information and documentation:

1. The name and details of the manufacturer and/or retailer from which the Company purchased the inverter, as well as the batteries. 2. All the original documentation pertaining to the purchase of the inverter and the batteries, including but not limited to, the invoice, warrantee or guarantee documentation, as well as the original packaging. 3. Details of the current physical location of the inverter, including the physical address, contact person, contact details, as well as the Job Card number or reference. 4. Feedback on the current status of the repair or disrepair of the inverter, including time lines for possible repair.

Bennie is not answering any of our calls or WhatsApp messages and my mom has been without an inverter for 3 months during these high stages of load shedding. Of great concern is that we do not know where the inverter was bought from because he didn't provide the information or original packaging. We have no idea where the inverter is at the moment and Bennie refuses to give us the information. I will now have to incur costs and appoint an attorney to institute civil (and possibly ********) charges against this Company and its directors.
