Holiday Factory taking monies without rendering any product or service and refuses refund

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Jose F, the facts of my case are similar to yours.

The Holiday Factory takes money from customers for holiday packages and when the booking is cancelled by their suppliers they take a handling fee for rendering no product or service and simply direct customers to the supplier for relief.

I too found ASATA to be useless - Otto de Vries is all over the media making statements about how travel agents should refund customers if a refund is requested which when followed up ends up carrying no weight. (https://www.iol.co.za/travel/travel-news/asata-on-air-tickets-and-vouchers-consumers-should-be-offered-choice-of-a-refund-***7) Barabara from his office just wastes a person's time by having you fill out pages and pages of complaints forms and then she does not even get back to you. When you eventually follow up with her she just sends a generic reply stating they cannot recommend a course of action.

The Holiday Factory and Web Tours took R20 000.00 from me and have taken no responsibility as "agents" Jose F, I sympathise with your frustration - it is aggravating to no end that in this day and age that a registered business can get away with this. I am also taking it further. Edwina Fletcher and Charne Williams will not ***** my hard-earned money

It is also no surprise that neither the agency nor ASATA has responded to the complaints.

I will never make use of any kind of travel agent again.

We have been in touch with you in regards our R2,200 fee (not R20,000 and the credit with SAA) and your options going forward. Be assured that even though the Travel industry is facing the biggest crisis in memory, we have no plan of unjustly enriching ourselves as a result of this global disaster.
