Visit at Dikhololo July 2016
We booked in at Dikhololo from 03 – 07 July 2017.
We received friendly and professional service at the entrance gate – much appreciated.
Facilities in general is in good condition – no complaints.
We however have to inform you about some issues of concern.
We had a braai the one evening and added some extra wors on the coals for the next day. My wife put the wors as well as pasta in a pot on the stove to cool off before placing it into the fridge. We went out and came in later only to find that the wors and pasta was removed by the cleaner. I called Dikhololo reception and mentioned that we do not accept this type of behaviour and they sent security to our unit to investigate. (Gemsbok 11) - after explaining this to the security head (Wayne?), he mentioned that it is acceptable for the staff to take left overs, I however explained to him that it was not “left overs” as the pot was almost full. He then left still arguing the point and I then discussed it with Senior management (Martie?) The lady in charge of the cleaners) and she mentioned that she agreed that cleaner should not take food without permission and that she has scheduled a disciplinary for this specific cleaner. I then asked her where is the written procedure that states whether cleaners can remove food from the units left in pots or not to remove food and she agreed that there is no written procedures to govern this. She then mentioned that we were irresponsible by leaving the food in the pot. This type of behaviour reflect bad management and should be addressed, as the client suffered a loss (+/- R150) as a result of lack of governance.
I also noticed that there is a H & S risk at the braai place, as the light was removed with the electrical wires only taped with insulation tape and easily accessible for kids. The switch to the removed fitting can be left on posing a danger of electrocution.
Glass shelve in bathroom next to washbasin was broken with sharp edges. I reported this with no response and reported this again after 2 days and only then it was replace.
The standard ? that we are use in the Holiday Club units is that there are some paintings on the wall – not in the unit that we stayed.
We were in a cluster of 4 units and it was really annoying to hear all the noise and conversations and difficulty to get to sleep.
The outside table is much too small for 6 persons, in fact it is almost too small for 4 persons, very inconvenient. We had a 6 sleeper unit.
The wardrobe in the main bedroom is much too small to properly hang clothes, In fact in winter it is impossible to hang all the clothes due to space restriction i.e. jackets.
The braai is not covered and about 8 meters away from the entrance door to the unit. It will not be possible to braai in in summer due to no roof facilities as well as distance to travel from the unit to the braai without getting wet.
The lighting in the unit is bad in general – not enough lux levels.
I have sent a mail to Oyedeji Amao from The Holiday Club on 19 July and had no feedback from him up till today.
