Typical company that trick you to think you gettings something wonderful, but after all T&Cs you basically get no value

Me and my wife were on a short holiday to Cape Town and during our visit there I won a 4-day mid-week holiday at one of The Holiday Club's resorts for 2 adults and 2 kids. The price was subject to attending an information session which took over 2 hours of our holiday time, which we didn’t mind for the price.

I see it by winning this competition as an opportunity for The Holiday Club to show us how good their service is, but I am disappointed and will never sign up with them with the poor service we received. Firstly, we had to call and follow-up multiple times to obtain our price voucher. After a lot of calls and back and forth, we finally received our voucher after 2 months of winning the price. The expectation is that I should have received the voucher without any hassles.

Then, one of the T&Cs of the voucher is that we can only make a booking during off season times, which was fine with me as I have had holidays in resorts before and know that off season is excluding December and January festive season and Easter Weekend.

They forced me to pay the required R399 for the voucher to be able to see available slots to be booked. I even directly asked them if I can I book during the school holiday with a response to say that they can only check once I make the R399 payment. I made the payment only to find out afterwards that there off season excludes all school holidays.

So, this price is as useless as an 5cent, because how I am I able to book a holiday with my wife and kids during school terms.

The conclusion of my experience with The Holiday Club is that they are a typical company that try and trick you to make you believe you getting something wonderful, but with all their T&C's you get ********** and basically get nothing.

Instead, they could have either do the following: 1. Left us out, so that me and my wife didn’t have to waist 2 hours of our valuable holiday time and save us from all the hassles and frustrations to get our voucher just to be disappointed that it has no value to us. 2. or allowed us to win the 4-day midweek price and give us a wonderful experience in winning this price to prove their excellent service which would have resulted in a 5-star rating here and even possibly us signing up with then in the future. I am sorry The Holiday Resort, but you still have a lot to learn about customer satisfaction. Now, I guess I will have to go through a lot of trouble to get my R399 refund.
