Contract Cancellation
In June The holiday club invited me and my wife to spend 2 nights in a hotel in Veereniging at a reduced cost. All we had to do was to spend time and listen to their agent. Listen we did,to Gerhard Schimper sold us our dream holiday plan and how cheap it would be and then we paid a deposit of R13000 and an installment of R2260 for 60 months.<br> <br> We just realized that this is too expensive and we cant afford it and we have other serious pressing matters. So we called the call center to cancel but the lady that answered was Princess (Kgontse) and she was so rude and told us that we will never cancel this contract because it's a lifetime contract and we owe the +R70k. I was amazed at her tone and level of rudeness and made it sound as if she was doing us a favor. She told me it's either we pay up or sell them. I was shocked and said this is the first time i hear that in ZA you cant get out of a contract.<br> <br> can someone please advise how to get out of this and get my deposit back (we haven't even used a single point).<br> <br> NB. when we bought this we were told we get 50 points every year (plus the bonus points to go overseas) but we found out we only have 14 points :(

All potential members receive a copy of the Agreement on the date of signing and are afforded the opportunity to peruse the document at their leisure during the allowed cooling off period. Should they wish to cancel the agreement, with a full refund, they can do so by submitting their cancellation request to The Holiday Club within the cooling off period.
Cancellation requests submitted outside the cooling off period will be subject to the terms of the National Credit Act which allows the Credit Provider to charge a cancellation fee.
A Consultant will contact you by end of business today.
