Cancellation fee for the holiday club membership is more expensive that the balance and I cannot afford to pay it.

I am currently struggling to cancel my membership with The Holiday Club. I have joined the club 3.5years ago for 40 points and have been paying instalments every month. But now I am unemployed and have sent them emails letting them know that i cannot continue paying and that I would like to cancel. Initially the points costed me R42000 and now if I cancel I have to pay cancellation fee of R30000. And I keep on telling them I cannot afford it. Now the account is owing R15000 to close it off, which i don't have but to cancel its R30000.

I have not used their points as they only rent ugly cheap accommodations. I have been paying R2500 every month and I feel have paid nothing until now. I am unemployed and I want to cancel my membership but i cannot afford cancellation fee for R30000 or for any amount really.

Hi Karabo,

Thank you for taking the time to speak to our consultant.

As discussed, your account is being submitted for cancellation.  It can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to finalise.

We trust that the matter was resolved to your satisfaction.

Kind Regards,
The Holiday Club
