Awful experience with The Holiday Club

Booked a holiday with The Holiday Club on the 18/01/2018 the week of 10/09/2018 1 week prior to arrival I received an SMS to inform me that renovations will be done at the Umhlanga Cabanas. It was a nightmare grinding etc. from 08h00 every morning till 15h00. We could not enjoy the facilities because of renovations and we had to go out everyday to get away from the noise. They were painting units etc. Please don't tell me that this decision was made 1 week before renovations! When you cancel with them you lose your points so we had no choice but to go. When I phoned to complain they just said well sorry I must understand that resorts must do renovations. My question is should they not say when you book in low season there is a possibility of renovations! I have mailed them twice and have received no feed back from them. It is ok for us to pay them but what service to we get? Earlier in the year we visited Dikololo and guess what, renovations was being done! I am very sorry I bought points at The Holiday Club because my first year with them was awful and now I am stuck with the points!
