FALSE INFORMATION
On 23rd Sept 2015 I contacted The Headache Clinic as I am suffering with severe headaches after invasive brain surgery to remove an astrocytoma.<br> <br> I was told by the receptionist that Discovery Health will reimburse my claim depending on which plan I'm on. <br> <br> After various tests were done I was given a quotation for a procedure for Arterial Cauterization to the value of R66,840.<br> <br> Discovery Health declined my claim of R5,370 because they do not cover any treatment done by The Headache Clinic. There are not enough clinical trials to validate the procedures from The Headache Clinic.<br> <br> Not once was I told, even when I asked, that this will NOT be covered by Discovery Health.<br> <br>
I take this type of thing exceedingly seriously and thank you for bringing this to my attention.
All our calls are recorded so I will try to track your call. If what you say is accurate I will seriously consider refunding you all or part of the money depending on the circumstances.
There are certain individuals that discovery has paid in the past but these typically have some sort of power over them. Either company owners, lawyers they do not wish to fight with etc. Certainly, in general for everyday members the chance of getting reimbursed by Discovery is negligible.
