DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR BY THE OWNER!

My friend is here from the United States, and went to The Handbag Shop a few days ago to buy a bag to take back with her. She realised it was not suitable and so today I took her back there to return it. The shop assistant told us the store policy is no refunds and she could give my friend a store credit. At that time the owner/s arrived in the shop (two white ladies). We spoke to them and explained that my friend did not want another bag, however, they said they had a no-refund policy, so we agreed to take a store credit, even though my friend could not use it, as she is going back to America on Monday. At the same time, a lovely African lady who was about to purchase a large suitcase in the shop offered to buy the store credit from us and use it to buy her bag. One of the owners came out of a back room and started screaming and shouting at us and the lady who so nicely offered to buy our store credit (so that my friend did not lose her R820). I have never ever in my life (I am 49 years old) been shouted at like that by someone. She said we were not allowed to do that and we were screamed at to leave her store. She and the lady who offered to buy our store credit got into a huge fight and the shopper was kicked out of the store with her family. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever witnessed. The owner then proceeded to scream at the poor shop assistant. She then proceeded to scream at my friend and myself, who up till now, had not said one word (because we were in such shock). I then asked the owner why she was screaming at us and she continued screaming. We were given the store credit by the assistant, and we left, in utter shock. I don't think I have ever seen someone lose their temper so badly ever! Unfortunately, I cannot let this rest. We did nothing wrong. The shopper in the store did nothing wrong. The other shopper was about to purchase a R950 suitcase, which the shop then lost that sale. Why would she dop that? The owner had absolutely NO right to scream at us and kick us out of her shop. I will go to social media and Hellopeter over this. Something needs to be done. I will be telling the entire community not to shop at her shop. I will not rest until something has been done about this absolutely disgusting woman. Either an apology (from her, not Balfour Park) or a refund to my friend who returned the bag and cannot use a store credit needs to happen.
