Unhelpful brokers.

My daughter, driving in Cape Town, was hit by a truck. The car is a write off. The Garrun Group are the insurance brokers for the truck, and as a result they handle the claim. They insist on handling the claim themselves and will not let me deal directly with the insurance company. Heraldine de Vries has repeatedly promised to provide information, get back to me, return my calls etc and never does. I kept asking what the book and salvage value would be to help decide what to do with the car and got nothing. She has been pleasant but totally innefective. I repeatedly asked what was going to happen with the claim and never get anything from her. Johan Smith, her manager, is no better. He actually told my daughter, and I , that it is our own fault for not having full comprehensive insurance and that we must just wait. That nothing will happen unless we go to lawyers ourselves. This is totally unacceptable. I realize that he is the broker for the truck, but he should be resolved to sort this issue out speedily as his client caused the crash. As it is, I have had to personally retrieve the vehicle from Cape Town and return it to Port Elizabeth at my own expense for safe keeping after various items were lost from the car due to it being smashed and unable to lock. I would not recommend this company to anyone ever for any reason whatsoever!
