The worst experience leading up to my wedding

We chose to use The Garden Venue for our wedding as the place is beautiful and very well priced. We were advised that we will be provided with a coordinator and that we are required to use their in house decorator which was fine.

However, it was impossible to get any information out of the coordinator which led to an extremely frustrating experience leading up to the wedding. It was impossible to get information from anyone. Further, the decorator was well overpriced and did not take proper instructions. Not to mention that the first decorator who I met with resigned and no one bothered to inform me. I continuously tried to contact her until finally she informed that she resigned.

We finally arranged another meeting with decorator where I decorated 2 tables with the purpose of portraying that it was possible to decorate a table at a reasonable price. A price was eventually agreed upon (all included). A day before the wedding, I was requested to bring the decorations to the venue, how is that even plausible to inform the bride, less than 24 hours before her wedding to bring the decorations? What the hell am I paying them for? It is still not clear to me why they thought I was to bring the decorations and in an event that that was agreed (which I emphasize WAS NOT) why would you not inquire at a reasonable time?

What happened earlier that day was not less shocking where the owner had decided to cancel certain elements as one payment didn't clear in time even though we only received the final quote a day or 2 before the wedding which was on a weekend. We even provided a bank approved proof of payment but nothing mattered until he eventually decided to change his mind 5 hours later.

I spent the day before my wedding in tears due to the lack of empathy and professionalism from the venue.

After all of that, on the day, the decorations were not what we wanted. A lot of elements were missing and the candles were not lit. My guests had to walk around the hall to lite the candles.

At the end we did have a beautiful wedding but I do feel that we over paid for decorations and I would not recommend this venue to anyone as I do not wish for anyone to go through the stress and frustration of what we went through. Very sad that such a beautiful venue is run by people who do not care about their customers.
