It's a Trap! Unreasonable cancelation policy and terms and conditions

We feel as if we have been ****med. Not customer friendly venue at all. They do not care about what's best for you but they just want your money.

We booked our wedding here in the beginning of the year. We were told that we must pay a deposit which is non-refundable which we understood to secure our date. Fast forward we had to down scale our wedding as we were pressured to pay and decided we did not want to spend so much on our wedding anymore. Then few months later after paying a few months, we decided to cancel. This was about almost 3 months before the wedding. The venue had however not done any prep for our wedding , we had not been for food tasting as we had asked about a few month ago, no decore' planning as requested as well and told they will let us know when we could come. The venue now refuses to give us back our money ( not the deposit) the other money that they have no right to. We were told that our deposit secures our date all of a sudden we are being charged a so called 100% fee which is all the money we have paid in besides the deposit. I asked them to please explain to me why they needed to keep that money as they have not done anything for my wedding, they said its cost lost due to "date security". The venue has other weddings on that date as my wedding was early in the morning on a grass area at the venue and using their forest chapel. I would of been out by mid day which they have other wedding on the same day which they hardly have Moring weddings. They wont call you back they in "all day meetings" when you call. They also told me it is in the terms and conditions. when I asked them to show me where it stated that, they sent me a snip form quote that I signed that states that you will not get your deposit back and nothing about the other money. Then I have not responded to that. They do not have an official terms and conditions document nor do they have any cancelation policy, I have asked them to send it to me they have not.

I am very disappointed in this venue as it is beautiful but they don't care about people they keep threatening you with their MD. Met him a few times though they we so nice but now that we are canceling they are not so nice anymore. So it's no help to escalate the matter to management. I wish I had read all these other reviews with similar issues on Hello Peter before paying them any money and booking now we must take legal action to try get our money back.
