Disgusted and appalled

<p>We had our informal wedding ceremony and brunch at The Garden Venue this last weekend. It was a disaster from start to finish.</p> <p> </p> <p>When we arrived on the morning, the venue was still a complete mess from functions the day (or night) before. The room we had requested to get dressed in still needed to be stripped, cleaned and re-set for us. During the ceremony the staff were moving large pieces of furniture (armchairs) around, among where our guests were seated and trying to listen to the wedding. They ended up dropping things and making a huge noise and distraction.</p> <p> </p> <p>When we moved down to the reception area, it had been laid out in a completely different way than we had requested - despite having chosen the setup directly from a picture sent to us by the wedding coordinator. By this time, the wedding coordinator had not even come to introduce herself yet. And only arrived much later after we repeatedly asked the staff to call her because of all the problems we were having.</p> <p> </p> <p>The food was horrific and could quite possibly have been left over from the night before. The bread was rock hard and all the crackers were completely soggy. Everything was cold. Depsite having asked for everything to be laid out nicely, the food was served by hand by waiters with no plates, cutlery or napkins for our guests.</p> <p> </p> <p>We had requested a bar tab to run so our guests could order drinks which we would pay for, but they were charged cash. The staff were also seen consuming our champagne during the function (which we had brought in privately and paid steep corkage on). They repeatedly ran out of clean glasses and tea and coffee cups.</p> <p> </p> <p>The last straw was when our guests were asked to give up their chairs so that the staff could begin setting up for another function which was being hosted that afternoon. </p> <p> </p> <p>I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by this business. It is without doubt the most horrific experience of unprofessionalism and disregard for customer service, politeness, care for your special event etc. DO NOT use these people for ANY reason.</p>
