Disgraceful Service & Dirty Setup – Ruined My Mom’s 50th

I booked The Garden avenu (Fever Tree) for my mother’s 50th birthday celebration and what I experienced was beyond unacceptable. Our event was scheduled to begin at 18:00, but the venue was still being cleaned at 17:00 due to a morning event running over.

Tables were bare, setup was incomplete, and I had to do it myself. Plates and glasses were dirty, napkins torn, chairs muddy, and the back area (meant for food service) was still cluttered with leftovers from the earlier event. Staff were dismissive and unprofessional, wiping items with old napkins and offering no real help. Even the podium came back dirtier each time we sent it for cleaning.

Despite promises, nothing was ready by 19:00, and we had to ask the venue to serve drinks to our guests while they waited. By 20:00, we gave up and told them to leave the setup as-is because our guests had waited long enough.

This venue ruined what should have been a beautiful milestone. I am pursuing a full refund and reporting them to the CGSO and SAACI.
