The doors Inn Mokopane : (
I stay at this place on a weekly basis because I work in Mokopane and I live in a different city. My experience here has been terrible and I have not enjoyed my stay here at all, here is a list why. 1. The manager is extremely ****** and the way in which she treats black people differently is very evident. She is rude and extremely dismissive. She occupies a room next to room 2 at the guesthouse and she smokes in her room all night all. I stayed in room 2 for three weeks until I could not take the suffocation and my sinuses were getting extremely aggravated and they moved me to room 5. The manager will also make rude remarks when we would use the facilities there and braai, she would complain about noise whereas we were very quiet. I have stayed at this place during weekends as well and I have seen how fellow white guests are treated when using these facilities, I have also been kept awake by them but she has done nothing nor has she said anything to them.
2. I was subsequently moved to room 05 where my experience became even worse, to coming back to the room uncleaned with hair on the floor for three consecutive days to having cold water whenever the water is not warm. The water in this room gets very cold if the weather switches up and I have informed them of this for three weeks in a row, still nothing has been done.
3. We stay at this place for approximately four months each year, with another group (groups of 4 min) that stays there for about four more months at the end of the year. You would think that this would make them treat us with kindness and be nice to us, but nope. They would go as far as cancelling our bookings, I'd arrive to Mokopane on a Monday and have no where to sleep because they cancel your reservation when they're white guests book rooms.
4. A recent incident, an incident that made me swear to never do business with these people ever again. I had booked and paid for my room this week upfront and because of the Coronavirus pandemic that has recently taking our country by storm. I checked out on Wednesday morning and I spoke to the assistant there and he advised me to send an email requesting that they cancel my booking and requested a refund as my company had already given me the accommodation money and I paid it over to them. The amount I paid for the nights I will not be at work will be deducted from my salary as I have received that amount and you would really think that with the state of our country at the moment, they would understand, but no. The very ****** manager informed me that they cannot give me a refund. I do not know when I will be going to work and I do not know if I will go back to Mokopane and this is how this business deems it fit to treat a consumer, that's alright then, just don't expect me to be doing business with you ever again.
