At the Dino Expo - AVOID IT!

The Dino Expo held at the Western Province Cricket Club over the weekend was extremely disappointing, and very overpriced. The advertising promised a mesmerising 15 minute walk with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs. The reality was 8 dinosaurs that were not all moving at the same time (I assume either not working or electricity supply problems that couldn’t supply all of them at the same time). The dinosaurs looked very much the worse for wear and the tears/holes/worn down parts were often not even disguised. Some tears were disguised badly with cloth. The large dinosaur head outside wasn’t moving. It took us six minutes to move through the dinosaurs, and we were walking at a very casual stroll. The advertising promised other activities but it wasn’t made clear that these would be an additional R30 a pop!! The tickets said R2 each. The “fossil sandpit” was just sand in the baking sun. The rides were a bus and a dino ride that cost R30 each, took forever to get on, and lasted a minute each.

The concept is a great one, but the delivery of this event was terrible. Either reduce the prices or revamp the show.

When I looked on Hellopeter, I wished I had read the reviews here first because it seems I am far from the only unhappy visitor.
