My husband and I rarely go out to eat due to financial constraints. So when we do, it's very special for us. Over the past 18 months we have been fortunate enough to eat at the Diner, in Monument, Krugersdorp, on two occasions. Attentive service, comfortable setting, low key music.The all important wine list is just enough to be enticing with enough lower priced options to satisfy those of us on a budget. And the food ? Wonderful! I rarely order steak because it's often disappointing and expensive. I ordered fillet and as I don't eat most carbohydrates the majority of side dishes were off limits for me. However the vegetables I ordered were perfect and delicious accompaniment to my delectable steak. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his sirloin and chips. My only complaint, if I could honestly call it a complaint, is that the drinks waiter appeared not to understand what soda water is when I ordered it. Other than that a lovely evening out !
