Customer not king

Went to purchase an AV receiver worth more than several thousand rands. Sales persons were not interested in demonstrating the potential of the receiver and expected me to purchase the equipment like I was buying a loaf of bread. I spoke to the store manager who was more interested in defending his staff than actually assisting and resolving the matter.
