The Courier Guy's empty promises
After a week waiting for my delivery (reason under dispute between vendor, which I will review separately, and courier company) , and having to follow up with both the vendor and the courier company when is became apparent that parcel was not where it was supposed to be, long story short, I was promised by Lucky in Johannesburg, the Ops Manager (so I was led to believe) on Friday 15Nov 2019 that I would have my package in Cape Town by Sat 16Nov at 9am. All parties were aware that the parcel was already very late and was needed by Sat as I was going away. I had been due to leave very early, but delayed my departure in order to receive the promised 9am delivery. It is now 11:30am on Saturday 16 Nov and I am still waiting for communication from The Courier Guy. Calling the number of The Courier Guy used by Lucky on Friday has no response. What absolutely annoys is the empty promises made of delivery at a specific time, leaving me to wait open-endedly and delaying departure on my journey by many hours. Have now tracked down the CT depot number from the after hours number service. They also do not know where my package is. And will be calling me back. Not good enough, couriers. If your company can't realistically get the parcel to me by a specific time, then be HONEST and don't make empty promises of unreachable delivery times that end up causing great inconvenience and disruption to the customer's departure plans. Not only is the parcel days late to start with, but also hours late of the promised late-delivery time, with no resolution in sight. UA***
