The Courier Guy - very bad service

I live in Gordons Bay and have recently had two very bad experiences with The Courier Guy. Despite having all details available, it appears that they only use SMS to communicate. I am not one of those people who has their cell phone in their hand 24 hours a day and accordingly, am not always aware when SMS's come through (which are numerous). Consequently, when The Courier Guy arrives and sends you an SMS to say they are outside, I have no way of knowing. In my experience they make no attempt to phone you and simply drive away after taking a picture of your closed gate. I don't think that they even get out of their van. I have two separate driveway gates approximately 5 metres apart and, on one occasion, had left one of my driveway gates open for them. They contended that they had attempted to make the delivery and showed me a picture of the second gate which was closed. When I asked why they did not use the gate that I left open for them, they became very defensive and rude. The driver was especially disrespectful. They could not dispute that the gate was open for them because my garden service was busy in my garden at the time they arrived (which they acknowledged). I always open my gate for my garden service and leave it open until they leave. The Courier Guy made no attempt to enter my property through the open gate in order to let me know that they wished to make a delivery. I have had a subsequent bad experience when they said that they had attempted a delivery (at a time that I was at home) but I had no idea that they had arrived (if this is even true). I strongly recommend that you do not use The Courier Guy. They are not worth the frustration.
