The Courier Guy passing on liability

I bought an item from Amazon, and The Courier guy was suppose to deliver it, and did uplift it, tracking nr T***, refers, I have now been informed that the parcel is lost, I must contact the seller for a refund.. why must I contact the seller?? Courier guy lost the package not the seller or me.

The Courier Guy needs to be held responsible.
