The Courier Guy Mistreatment

This is my terrible experience with Courier Guy (Vryheid branch):

On the 29th of December 2022 I sent an email to the Vryheid Courier Guy branch requesting that they pick up a parcel for me from Cheetah Way Express warehouse. On the 30th of December, I went into their branch to provide the necessary information and specifications. I provided the reference number for my shipment as a whole (which included 20 other boxes) for verification purposes at the warehouse. I then specified that I needed only 1 box to be picked up and provided the barcode of which they could identify it with. This was documented by the receptionist on the Collection Notes on their system. On the 31st of December I was notified that the driver had brought 20 boxes that I had not requested, excluding the one box I had provided documentation for. The branch then indicated that I had to be liable for the cost involved.

After I refused to pay that amount the branch manager then offered that I pay a reduced amount of R2100. I refused to pay that as well which in short was then handed over to their lawyers despite my efforts to amicably resolve the matter with their branch, area and regional manager. The boxes were held in the branch's possession and as such I was not able to sell my products. As a small business owner I was losing sales each day and decide to just pay for my goods to be released. I also had to bear the cost of transportation of my goods back to Johannesburg.
