The Courier Guy — Lost Parcel, 42 Days, No Resolution | Waybill LL-K78GMZ
On 29 April 2026 I deposited a parcel at the Meltz Centre Locker in Somerset West (Waybill: LL-K78GMZ). The parcel contained a customer order for home décor products valued at approximately R700. It was never delivered. What followed was 42 days of delays, vague responses and a complete failure to resolve the matter:
- 27 April: Told the parcel was "under investigation." No reference number, no reason, no timeframe. - 15 May: Discovered the shipment status had been changed to "Cancelled" — with no notification, no explanation and no consent from me. - 21 May: Asked — 22 days into the investigation — to confirm the deposit date. Basic information they should have had from day one. - 2 June: I sent a formal written claim citing the Consumer Protection Act, requesting resolution by 9 June 2026. Their response was a generic apology promising to "look into the matter." - 9 June deadline passed. No outcome. No compensation. No reference number. No return of parcel.
The financial loss is secondary. This was a customer order. Their failure to deliver, combined with zero proactive communication and an unexplained unilateral cancellation, has damaged my relationship with my client and my small business reputation.
I have been patient and professional throughout. I have followed up repeatedly, provided all information requested, and given clear written deadlines. None of it has made any difference.
The Courier Guy has had 42 days and done nothing.
I am now escalating to the National Consumer Commission and will be pursuing recovery through the Small Claims Court.
I would not recommend The Courier Guy to any small business that depends on reliable delivery and basic accountability.
