THE COURIER GUY LOST MY PARCEL!!!

I ordered something from an online Instagram shop and they used The Courier Guy to send my parcel to me. It’s been well over a week and I don't have my parcel. I called the Bethal branch which last had my parcel and this is their response “we have lost your parcel. We don’t know where the driver took it”. How does this even work? That parcel cost me R2000 and it’s that easy for the courier guy to lose it with no explanation?
