The Courier Guy fails to take responsibility for handling parcels with care.
So upset with tis company for not accepting responsibility for gross negligence. Sent a very well packaged pair of artworks back to the owner, only for them to arrive completely shattered. As an artist we know we need to package securely as glass is easily cracked and I'm quite willing to accept that eventuality. I do also therefor tape the glass in an attempt to minimise damage should it be cracked as the tape will hopefully keep the shards mostly together.
When wrapping artworks I always wrap individual pieces in bubble wrap first to ensure they don't scratch each other, then I wrap in board and another layer of bubble wrap. I've sent many many packages this way.
Last week I sent a package only for the recipient to send me the most horrible images of the completely wrecked artworks. The wooden frames are even broken - with the front bashed in as if something very heavy was dropped onto it.
Firstly I cannot find a complaint email address - support merely forwards your message to other departments or the branch who respond with unprofessional 1 liners and no explanation. NO responsibility is taken - their longest answer so far has been pasting the no liability clause from their t's and c's. I don't understand how anyone can look at the images of the damage, simply shrug and deny any responsibility whatsoever. Out of the recipients I've emailed, most replies are rejected by their email system stating that the mailboxes are full.
Below their very profound email replies to my enquiry.
Admin Nov 18, 2022, 13:36 GMT+2 So your answer to this query is basically that your staff can grossly mishandle any of the below items as you will not accept responsibility for the PROPER handling if your parcels. Tell me please how that applies to the wooden frame bent inwards in the image? Tell me please how you managed to break this while it was facing the other frame and it was wrapped securely. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that a very heavy object must have been dropped onto this. I am quite willing to accept cracked glass – hence you will notice the very secure taping of the glass to ensure it doesn’t shatter. I want the feedback from a manager – as a courier company it is your responsibility to take care of parcels and handle it with care and respect. Now you’re trying to hide between a clause. Copying and pasting a clause is not an answer. I SAID I WANT FEEDBACK! Kind Regards Henriëtte van Staden

Admin Nov 18, 2022, 11:36 GMT+2 This complaint was already submitted on Monday – for the last two days I have not received any feedback. I find it unacceptable that a package gets absolutely destroyed and not a person can give me feedback. I need the name of a manager that I can speak with and take this complaint further. Nelspruit Kiosk (The Courier Guy) Nov 15, 2022, 16:25 GMT+2 good day i will request footage to advise
Admin Nov 15, 2022, 16:04 GMT+2 I don’t think this is either an acceptable answer or the end of this. Firstly – its not a question ‘if’ it was mishandled. IT WAS MISHANDLED. The contents of this package was completed wrecked. The question is – who is responsible, what is the consequence and how will you rectify the negligent handling. I want answers and I want them ASAP! Kind Regards Henriëtte van Staden

Admin Nov 14, 2022, 15:34 GMT+2 Good afternoon I’d like to log a complaint regarding gross negligence – I recently sent a package to a colleague in the Western Cape – and I have attached the photos of how this package looked upon arrival. I recently sent a few packages across the country – all with the same type of content. I package extremely securely as I know they might get a knock or so in the process, but a knock would not have resulted in this kind of damage. Even the wooden frames are broken!! I had a frame fall from the wall and it didn’t break like this!! I actually cannot image how this package was mishandled to arrive so completely shattered and broken. The lady who received the package mentioned the Courier delivering the parcel acted very strange – obviously aware of the damage? I would like someone to contact me to take this matter further.
