The Courier Guy caused me huge loss to my small business - parcel unaccounted for.

I sent a parcel - bucket of peanut butter—from Gauteng to Eastern Cape. I made it known the contents were fragile. Four days later I was informed the parcel had reached destination - but the bucket had cracked (being asked if they could deliver the parcel). I informed that the receiver should be informed and be able to deal with the matter. Shockingly, the receiver was handed any empty cracked bucket. How could a 20 litre bucket of peanut butter be totally empty because of a crack? I made efforts to speak to the regional manager—and I was dismissed because I signed some *at-own-risk clause*. I requested pictures, and I was told I cannot get them because of the POPI Act..Wow - POPI on my parcel? Zero accountability or remorse is what I received - and I am shocked at such levels for a professional entity like The Courier Guy. R1800 worth of peanut butter, plus the transportation, all gone—with statements not adding up whether the parcel was observed as cracked in Johannesburg or in Eastern Cape. Very sad loss I have made as an upcoming entrepreneur.
