***********. ****s.
I ordered epoxy products from a seller’s website, a few days later got a WhatsApp notification from The Courier Guy saying my order was collected and would be delivered the next day. Which was great because my order notes clear stated I needed the order to arrive by 15th April 2025.
Next day comes (15 April) and silence. I delayed my trip to KZN (where I would use the products) and told myself I’d give them one more day. On the 16th, at mid-day I realised they still hadn’t said anything so I called and emailed and used their website chatbot. Finally after 2pm they responded to tell me I had to pay an extra R75.00 before they deliver. They were holding my order hostage.
When I asked them why they had not communicated this in time, on the day they confirmed delivery, they advised they had emailed me. When I debunked their myth, that I had not received any email, they claimed they had emailed the seller of the product. Which sounded insane to me because why email someone else and not the person who is supposed to pay the fee.
On 17th April I paid the extra R75, in the morning and demanded they deliver that day. Their response was "we will TRY to deliver it today". They never delivered. I had to cancel my travel plans because the whole point of me going to KZN was to use the products I had ordered.
What is worse is that I had hired two guys to do the flooring for me, and they had travelled from Durban to Ladysmith for it. I paid for their BnB stay for 2-days and paid for their time wasted not earning money and had to pay for their bus fare back to Durban, when I cancelled the job.
The Courier Guy is not reliable, they don’t care and they will throw any lie at you just to get you out of their hair.
Sellers need to have a "choose your preferred courier company" option to orders because I certainly would never volunteer to be abused by Courier Guy again. I wish to never have to deal with them again.
If these sellers are not careful, they are going to get a bad reputation by associating or using Tje Courier Guy.
