R748 Overnight Delivery Arrived a Week Late, Blamed on a “Suburb Field”

I paid R748.69 for an overnight, door to door delivery - a service that normally costs around R250 for standard shipping. Despite this, my parcel arrived a full week late, with one box being sent back to the origin hub and the other left sitting at the destination hub for days. All the delivery details were entered correctly, and both my number and the recipient’s number were clearly printed on the waybill. If there had been any uncer*****y, a simple phone call would have prevented the entire mess. No one contacted either of us. After escalating the issue, I received contradictory explanations from different departments. The final explanation was that the “suburb field” was to blame, despite every other piece of information being correct and their own system initially routing it correctly. Blaming a single field while ignoring the city, postal code, province, and contact numbers is not accountability - it’s deflection. I have used The Courier Guy exclusively for five years and have spent tens of thousands of rands with them. The lack of ownership, support, or compensation for a service that was not delivered as paid for has been extremely disappointing. I can no longer recommend The Courier Guy for time sensitive or larger shipments.
