Incompetency of The Courier Guy
I am so done with The Courier Guy and i have been using them for years to courier nationally. They have to be one of the most unreliable courier companies out. I run a marketing business which relies on parcels being delivered to clients nationwide - most of the deliveries come with strict deadlines and where the goods are required for events. Yesterday i was out most of the day and scheduled, from my phone, a collection from Ormonde which was supposed to come to Germiston with an overnight delivery. The client is collecting from me today at 12h00 and i specifically added on the waybill to have it to be by 10h00 this morning. Yesterday afternoon i received an email (no phone call) to say that there was a change of address and the driver couldnt collect. The business has been in the same premises for years as it is a large corporate company - the real reason established was because they had allocated the incorrect driver. I called in and told them i had to have the parcel by 10h00 the next day and explained why. They assured me that they would get the correct driver to collect this parcel and have it to me by the said time. On calling them this morning i was told i would only have it in the afternoon as they did allocate the new driver but he would only collect this morning. I am now having to cancel signage jobs already scheduled for the day in order to accommodate collection of this parcel and have it at our offices for collection at 12h00.
This is far from the first time that the Courier Guy has let me down. I have had events without the handout gifts due to them arriving at the suppliers too late and therefore not collecting, i have lost clients due to their incompetency and the thing that really angers me is that we only receive an email. No phone call - no wattsapp to say there is a problem. In a case like this where there is a specific instruction they should at least called so that other plans could have been made to ensure the goods are collected by me or any other source. They clearly dont take our deadlines seriously enough or they would make a plan to rectify a mistake on their side yet they never do. I am just done.
I am sure there are some great stories, some of which i have had, but with the stories that are not spoken about, the frustration of clients not receiving goods on time, reshuffling their plans in order to accommodate The Couriers mistake, lack of their communication to the businesses like us who are responsible for keeping the economy flowing and ensuring their clients are super happy. These are the stories never told. These are the businesses who, with few staff, with stringent processes for meeting their client deadlines, it is these businesses that require the communication from the courier, by telephone, as they are out most of the day securing new work, completing jobs, etc. An email doesnt cut it - a phone call from them means they treat your business requirements as crucially as you do and have your interest at heart. This they clearly dont.
So before using them, know the potential issues that can arise and that can cause problems with your daily schedules/clients and deadlines
