INCOMPETED SERVICE FROM THE COURIER GUY COMPANY

Last week, on June, 14 I was called outside of my workplace (East London CBD) that my car was bumped by a truck from The Courier Guy company. I went out to investigate and found out that they bumped and damaged my right side mirror - the one essential when driving. We (the driver of the truck and I ) went to the police station to report the case for insurance purposes for both mine and their side since they said they are covered and for the third party. I reported the incident as well to my insurance but unfortunately my insurance rejected the claim and stated the reasons that the damage were less than the excess amount and I would rather repair it myself. I called The Courier Guy company on Wednesday, June 15 and they said they had reported and lodged the claim to their insurance. I decided to give them some time and on Monday, June 19, I called them to check the status the claim and a possible update but unfortunately did not get joy and the person who came to attend the incident from the company seemed that he is lost about the incident, which left me wondering if they did report and lodged the claim with their insurance. I then called their head office but I was given the number for the Regional Manager, I they re-stated the case and promised that he will investigate and revert back to be. On the same day, at the end of the business day, I reminded him that I am still waiting for the feedback but there was not but instead I later received a note with an email address that I need to write and follow up on the claim. But who is supposed to do that? Are they not supposed to deal with the matter internally as the company? Why do I have to do all the follow up? Don't I deserve to get a courtesy of being updated about the matter? Especially that I was not on the wrong as my car was parked on the parking bay. This is a frustration for me and its a serious office to even drive a car without a mirror. It is now the 9th day without a mirror.
