Goods damaged while in transit and lack of responsibility by The Courier Guy
On 23 March 2026 I received an LG Solardom microwave from my son under waybill no. TCG***4 and I am extremely unhappy at the condition in which my parcel was received. The despatch originated from the Hennops Park depot in Centurion, for receipt in Mossel Bay. My daughter-in-law asked me if she should insure the parcel to which I responded that in all the time I have used TCG (and it is a lot) I have never had a problem and that she should just mark the parcel FRAGILE and HANDLE WITH CARE. The lady at TCG Hennops Park put stickers all over the box FRAGILE, DO NOT STACK, etc. On delivery in Mossel Bay, the box was broken slightly and on opening it, the front glass door panel, the door itself, and the door handle had been damaged. I contacted Support at TCG –who responded to that it is not TCG problem. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE and I phoned and spoke to Belinda (who went out of her way to assist me) who suggested that I request the matter to e escalated to Security for further checking. The only response I get back is that they have checked their CCTV footage and that no mishandling was detected. I do not accept that TCG will not accept responsibility for the damage that has clearly been incurred due to poor handling, and if not in the depots, then definately while in transit. This machine new is R10K – I am not asking them to replace it, but I am asking that they take responsibility, despite their T&C’s, as this damage has clearly been incurred by TCG. Secondly, I am requesting that an investigation be made into Mossel Bay as there any many complaints about the phones that don't get answered, parcels are getting lost, and parcels are being received in bad condition/broken. I tried to speak to Mr Duane Calitz, the COO, who refused to take my call. Again this is totally unacceptable. I expect a response from a senior person and not someone from the call centre.
