Failure to Deliver Services that Money Has Been Taken For

Parcel 3SHGTF has reference.

When booking with Courier Guy, full delivery details were given, including Google Maps pin location AND additional notes stating that I am on the coast a further 52km beyond Ngqeleni. My parcel was never delivered. Drivers don't have WhatsApp so sending them map locations is not possible. All instructions were ignored. At last, in desperation, I asked for my parcel to be left in Mthatha. This is a huge inconvenience and additional cost, as I live over 2hrs away without a vehicle. Why is Courier Guy accepting bookings they will not deliver? And who covers the additional cost, now that I must travel and waste a day to collect a parcel that I've paid Courier Guy to deliver?

I received a phonecall from Courier Guy saying that my parcel was ready to collect. I sent a follow up whatsapp to their official number *** explaining that I was coming from Durban and traveling onward over 100km away and that it would be a long time and a HUGE inconvenience and cost to do the trip to Mthatha any time soon. I specifically asked them to confirm that ALL my goods would be ready for collection. They confirmed that it was all in order.

My bus was late, I sent a friend to collect on my behalf. My parcel had two items. One item was missing. This means I must do ANOTHER trip. Who covers this cost? Courier Guy is guilty of taking money for services not delivered.

Proof of Payment for R300 was sent to Mthatha WhatsApp number ***, but when collecting from Mthatha depot, they had no record of payment, and have said I must print out the proof and bring it with me??? Are we not in 2024, or is it 1994? How is it possible that the official WhatsApp number for Mthatha Courier Guy is unable to update the system, or at least inform the depot that payment was received? How is there no communication?

The amount payable that has been quoted to me on WhatsApp versus what was roughly scribbled on a s**** piece of paper at Mthatha depot are two different amounts. And until now, via the Mthatha WhatsApp Number, I am still unable to get anyone to send me an official invoice as proof of this transaction.

In the meantime my parcel, which was booked on Jan 31 has still not arrived by Feb 13. And I have been forced to travel over 200km so far to try resolve this. If I must make another trip, it would cost me 400km in travel, 2 full days wasted, and more money than I have already paid to the Courier Guy, which the Courier Guy accepted to deliver to my address, without any questions. This borders on theft.

The staff and drivers responsible for handling Mthatha and surrounding areas should all be replaced. Appalling service. And still no resolution. What do I need to do to get an invoice that shows the full amount, less the amount received in payments already, and the outstanding balance? How is this so difficult?

And who is covering the additional costs as mentioned above?
