Disappointed does not begin to describe how I am feeling with The Courier Guy.

I had ordered a piece of furniture from a store based in JHB. I contacted them with regards to a follow up with the Lead time I was advised that product has been completed and shipped for CPT. On the same day which was on the 20th of July, Gerrit from the Cape Town Airport Depot at The Courier Guy reaches out to me pertaining to my parcel. He advised that it has arrived in CPT and is at their floor, he further explained that based on the area I live in they will be unable to delivery to my place at the time due to the unrest caused by the current taxi conflict in CPT. As I had not been able to provide him with an alternative address for the Kuilsriver area (which is in close proximity to my place and literally just separated by a National Road), we decided to wait and see how the unrest goes on Monday the 26th of July 2021 prior to them delivering to my address in Mfuleni. I was also given the option to go collect the item myself, which they had already told me needed their delivery trucks (which are branded) to be delivered based on its size. This too was not an option for me, as where would I get this type of vehicle privately to go collect, furthermore I'd find myself at a greater loss financially as I had already concluded my business with the furniture store which had hired The Courier Guy and paid them to deliver said parcel. Prior to this past Monday the 26th of July, I try reaching out to Gerrit on Saturday the 24th of July via the mobile number we had been communicating with and was unsuccessful, I further went and called the depot to which I had the most atrocious experience with a gentleman over the phone. I explained my situation at hand and advised I'd attempt collection as there is a family who's vehicle is around and could transport the parcel if tied down to the ceiling of the car. The gentleman stated he'd be unable to assist as Gerrit is not on duty that day furthermore the mobile number I had referred to is with him at home. He insisted for a waybill number which I had not been provided with by Gerrit, he further suggested I try again once I have the details he needs baring in mind I had provided him with sender details all my details on file he just refused to assist. I reached out to the company who than provided me the waybill number on Monday the 26th, if you recall Gerrit had set a follow up with myself this same day and by midday he had not reached out. I called the depot again, and provided the waybill, I spoke to the same gentleman who was rude the past Saturday who than said yes the par el is with them on their floor (all of which I already knew) he continued to advise that there was a note stating awaiting alternative address on it hence it is not yet delivered. I explained to him my previous s with Gerrit and thy the parcel has to be delivered to the initial address in question. He than stated he'd need to check this out with 'dispatch team' he than proceeded to place me on hold for 5mins and than disconnect the line whilst I was on hold. I rang up again immediately, and spoke to a young lady by the name of Ashton. Went through all the above steps and she took down my initial address again, she than informed me about this same note on this parcel, I explained to as before and also how disgusted I was at this point with the service. She than reassured me that she'll reach out to the relevant team and advise me accordingly with the next steps. I was placed on hold yet again, upon her return she told me she spoke to the dispatch personnel and they advised they cannot deliver the parcel to my area due to the vehicle needed being branded and their drivers are scared and get high jacked in such areas. I than proceeded to ask this Ashton whether they cannot deliver due to the previous weeks unrest in CPT which no incidents were reported let alone occurred for the Mfuleni area, she rep**** to me with utter confidence that "no ungeneral and with normal day-to-day proceedings at The Courier Guy they do not deliver to Mfuleni". At this point this is when I blew my fuse. I advised her that this is not my problem as it is the 1st I am hearing of it in the past 8days and that is not the expectation that was set my a member of their staff (Gerrit) I was told my parcel would be delivered once things settled. Furthermore if this was the case why did The Courier Guy accept business and payment from JHB for a delivery in an area they now claim they do not deliver to. I told her they'd need to reach out to SAPS or whoever to arrange an escort as I will not be getting the short end of the stick based on their incompetence. Ashton did not empathise let alone apologise for my situation and continued to play the blame game with the depot in JHB implying that this Gerrit person I had been speaking to is not in CPT depot however in JHB and this is probably why I was given 'incorrect' information. I further asked that she escalate the matter with their manager and come back to me with a resolution. She than advised that they will reach out to me. About 15mins pass and Ashton calls me again, explaining yet again that they are unwilling to deliver this parcel and that she's unable to get ahold of the manager Jan who is Gerrit's direct manager. I further asked her where Jan is based and she confirmed CPT and I asked her again where Gerrit was based and she rep**** CPT which was totally different to what I was told on our previous call, she further made an excuse on annunciation and how she thought I was referring to someone else who's based in CPT, I than asked Ashton to forward this call to the warehouse where Jan was said to be and if it does disconnect to get him to ring me up on the matter. She placed me on hold and after a while the call got a beep sound and was disconnected. At this point I reached out to the store directly in which I had purchased the parcel and explained my frustrationa with them with The Courier Guy she than escalated the matter with them, I further explained to her that I have got to the point where this feels like my area is being racially profiled due to the proximity of it and Kuilsriver further stating that if I were to provide another address which would be based in a 'black township' such as Langa they'd give me the same excuse, and if that was not the case why would the accept money a business on a said 'blacked out area'. The manager at the purchasing store reached out to them a d was rest assured that the parcel will be with me. It is now 2 business days later (Wednesday, 28th of July 2021), and The Courier Guy as not delivered, Gerrit as not followed up with me, Jan his manager has not contacted me regarding my illl treatment and escalation on this delivery.
