Cycle accident

As I was cycling in Waverley on 11th of August 2022, a driver from The Courier Guy turned his vehicle acutely in front of me to enter a house where he had to deliver something. I tried to avoid hitting his truck by braking and swerving away. I unfortunately took a tumble in the driveway of his customer and fractured my collarbone in the process. My bicycle was damaged, as well as my helmet and clothing. The driver never indicated his intention of turning. He must have been on his cell phone shortly before the event, since I’m a tall person and was dressed in very bright cycling clothing on a bright red cycle during a bright and sunny day around 16:00.

I contacted his company. My medical bills were covered by my medical aid (as I’ve indicated to them in this email) but the damage to my bicycle, as well as my helmet and clothing were something that I thought they could help with (some kind of compensation or something). I was told to contact the Road Accident Fund (but as they should be well aware off, damage to vehicles, clothing, etc. are not covered by RAF). I was truly very disappointed in this company. Not taking any responsibility for their drivers is simply not serving the customers in general or any fellow road user.
