Courier service straight from hell - or they will at least cause you to end up there.

The most unacceptable service!

So get this, you confirm a package size and weight with a warehouse and after receiving confirmation you go to The Courier Guy's website to make use of their online quotation service. You get a good quote so you make payment. The warehouse confirms the package is sufficiently packaged, no additional packaging required. The Courier Guy collects and everything seems fine. No! Surprise Surprise!!! You get an email from The Courier Guy stating that your package is much larger than indicated and that an urgent payment must be made or they won't deliver. You contact them to query the issue because you know for a fact that this must be a mistake. They insist that it is not a mistake, so you make the additional payment. Two days later though, when the package is delivered, guess what! The package is exactly the size and weight that you initially got quoted on. Naturally one is angry because you made the effort to avoid what is to follow. One has to jump though ridiculous hoops, to please the company that made the mistake in the first place to get your refund. They make it such a pain to get the money back that you feel that the money you spent additionally is not even worth all the time you need to spend on all the hoop jumping to comply with their internal policies anymore. For a R184 refund, a letter on a company letterhead stating why you are requesting the money back and signed by the company director, the directors ID, original proof of payment and bank account confirmation letter must be sent through. you do all this feeling that it is a complete waste of time above all the inconvenience and additional time you have to spend to get all this in place. To top it all off, once you did this they reply that the refund will take 7-10 business days to be paid back. So me recommendation is: NEVER USE THE COURIER GUY!!! Save yourself a lot of trouble and time and money and just don't make use of their services. There are plenty of other good courier companies out there. The Courier Guy definitely isn't one of them!
