Courier Guy Proud of breaking your package. "We did our part, delivered it to the right place."

Courier Guy broke a memorial bench I hand made for my friends widow. Their response is sorry, but the package was taken the whole way and delivered. Al I wanted was for them to just refund me the courier cost. But no they said they delivered it so sorry.

Here is the whole story: I made a wooden bench as a memorial for the wife of my recently deceased friend. She wanted to put it up in t heir complex with a name plate on as a memory to him. I live in Bela Bel and she is in Gordon bay. Courier guy said they not allowed to send assembled furniture as they cannot insure it. I said no problem just put a lot of fragile stickers over the package and treat it carefully. I wrapped the bench in bubble rap and cardboard. Two days later the widow sent me the pictures. The one back rest was almost cracked through and one front leg completely broken off. This bench is made from Rhodesian teak. Very hard wood. Its not as if there was a scratch of a little dent on it. What ever else was shipped and treated that way would have been broken, no matter what it was. For Courier Guy to just say sorry we did our part and took the package the whole way is pathetic. I don't need the money its just the principle. So this tells me what type of company Courier Guy is and what they ethics are. I will go out of my way to avoid using them unless their response to this post changes my mind. No issue with the staff at the branch, they did their part. Obviously some manager somewhere. Like I said, I don't need the money and if you interested in changing my mind on Courier Guy you can send the refund to a charity of my choice. Its not even much. R1500.
