Courier Guy --- Overnight Service definitely NOT Overnight

I placed an order with a service provider and they chose to send the parcel via Courier Guy (from Cape Town). I stressed the urgency of having the parcel as soon as possible and the Courier Guy advised that if I pay an additional fee (to the already paid courier fee) - I am guaranteed to receive it overnight. Parcel sent Friday, 22 September. Upon following up on Saturday, 23 September (shocking service via WhatsApp line) - I am told that the parcel is in transit from Cape Town. I will only receive my parcel Thursday / Friday (28/29 September). Upon confirming that I will need the parcel for the event to be held on Thursday - I am told that it was Overnight Regional .... which means 2-3 business days. And then informed (quite rudely) .... Courier Guy doesnt operate over weekends????? Upon following up today (Tuesday, 26 September) ... I am told my parcel is still in transit from Cape Town. Upon request why I then paid extra, I was informed (again) it is overnight (regional) (so Thursday or Friday). BUT, if I left it as Economy - my parcel would have arrived Friday or Monday. I did inform them that if I dont have the parcel by tomorrow - they can return to sender and I will request my money back.
