Courier Guy negligence and hiding behind Ts & Cs
I used courier guy to ship a guitar. It was bubble wrapped repeatedly, then wrapped in thick paper and plastic. As this it a hollow item, I requested that the item be treated as fragile and not to be stacked. Upon receipt it was noticed that the neck was snapped in 2 and the body was broken. Their staff and I noted that there were no “fragile” or “do not stack” stickers on the package.
I made a damage claim which was declined because the item is made of wood!! Because household packaging was used!! And their investigation found no evidence of negligence. Now if we use the brain we are all are born with, If the client requests the item not to be stacked, it means that regardless of the packaging or its material, the item will be broken if stacked. So then the couriers stacked on the item, it broke. The fact that the request to not stack is made by the client to ensure the safety of their parcel, was not heeded is negligence in itself. Take responsibility for mishandling clients parcels and stop hiding behind your terms and conditions.
An investigation found no evidence of negligence!!! as if God himself put his finger into that fan and mysteriously broke the item. If your courier had simply not stacked as requested then this item would not have broke. Please don't allow your couriers to be negligent because a client is sending at their own risk. Even if we send at our own risk, we expect that items will be handled with care and that our requests to ensure the safety of our items are heeded. Laughable service. Do not use them if you do not review their extensive Ts & Cs which indemnifies them should they be negligent, and allows them to shrug their shoulders and point to Ts & Cs if you claim damage.
