Courier Guy is happy to take business, but not responsibility

I needed a courier for my tiles from Joburg to Cape Town and so i looked for one that offered insurance on the courier. Courier Guy was happy to "offer" the service. I received the tiles with half of them broken and so I enquired as to how I will be compensated for the loss. The support team showed me that the terms and conditions stated that they do not accept liability for breakages... Fair enough. Only issue is that I would have made alternative arrangements if this was explicitly mentioned to me. They are unwilling to compensate for any of the losses and will not even refund my courier amount. I will be using DSV and alternative couriers for any future business or personal projects.
