Courier guy is a careless service provider

I am extremely disappointed with the way my parcel was handled by Courier Guy.

I ordered 50 plates from a company in Johannesburg for my catering business. When I received the parcel, 8 of the 50 plates were broken.

The plates were properly wrapped in bubble wrap before being sent, and the parcel was clearly marked “FRAGILE.” I have photographic evidence of the broken plates as well as the packaging.

I reported the matter to Courier Guy and provided proof of the damage. Instead of properly investigating the matter, I was told that the damage was not their responsibility.

My concern is: if a parcel is properly packaged, protected with bubble wrap and clearly marked “FRAGILE”, how does 8 out of 50 plates arrive broken while in the courier’s possession, yet the courier refuses to accept any responsibility?

This is a financial loss to my business. I paid for 50 plates and have now been left with only 42 usable plates.

I am not satisfied with the response I received from Courier Guy and will be escalating this matter to the relevant consumer and regulatory authorities.

I would like Courier Guy to properly investigate what happened to my parcel and provide a reasonable resolution for the 8 damaged plates.
