Bad Service

My package was out for delivery Friday the 23rd. Twice the driver was here at the complex, and dit not think for himself to PUSH THE BELL. I phoned them today, asking where my package is, just to be told, it will be delivered tomorrow, as there was no special note telling them to push the bell. See this I don't understand, Do you just go to someone's house and stand there hoping they will come out? or do you actually ring their bell? So why is it not common practice or sense to ring our bell, our unit number is on the address! My cellphone number is on the notes. Do we seriously have to tell the courier company to ring the bell now?
