64 year old pensioner- Delivered expired insulin.

We run a small business, and have been giving The Courier Guy deliveries to do for us for a couple of months. My mother also has her medicine picked up by the company, and usually puts it on same-day delivery, seeing as there is insulin in the package. The company picked up the medication from Tongaat, and sent it passed uMhlnaga (where it needed to have been delivered) to PMB. The same-day delivery could not be fulfilled. Now, if you know anything of insulin, you know it needs to be refrigerated. Low and behold when the package is delivered, it is expired- and worse, squashed up in a crease delivery bag.

I then contacted the company and asked for a refund on the medication, because they did not meet their end of the deal- in terms of having it delivered on time. The head office then told me: "Good day Kirthi Mothiram, We do apologise for the inconvenience and for the poor service of not delivering same-day. We will credit the courier cost for the parcel as we did not deliver the same day service as requested. Unfortunately, we would not be able to assist with any other compensation as our terms and conditions does state that we do not take liability for medication. I will instruct Durban to credit the waybill cost and send you proof thereof as soon as possible. Again, we do apologise for the inconvenience. Thank you kindly. "

The insulin cost R2 000. My mother is a 64-year old pensioner who worked for the state as a teacher for more than 30 years. She is a Type 1 diabetic. But, their TCs don't cover causation. So, she will not be refunded.
