5 Star rating for damaging goods and taking no responsibility.

Dear The Courier Guy Ceres My printer that was collected by The Courier Guy on the 22nd of May 2024 from Parts Serve in Montague Gardens ( Brand new Epson Printer that went in for a maintenance service). We booked the collection for the 21st of May 2024. I want to express my disappointment and frustration with the handling of my parcel. The printer was wrapped in bubble wrap and had clear, bold instructions stating "Fragile, Handle with Care, This Way Up, Ink Spillage - Do Not Tumble, Kick, or Throw." Despite these instructions, the printer arrived at my office in a dreadful state, with blue ink seeping from the device and saturating the packaging. The ink in ink tank printers cannot be removed. It is locked into the ink tank and sealed with clips. The only way to have an ink spillage is if the printer has been turned to the side which is evident as the whole left side of the printer was saturated in blue ink. The white photocopying pad is completely saturated in blue ink along with ink that has seeped into the mechanical part of the printer. It is evident that there has been significant negligence in the transportation of my printer, as ink tanks are securely sealed and cannot leak unless mishandled. The Courier Guy's driver arrived with a blue-saturated printer and work shirt and admitted to possibly dropping the item. He also mentioned that the printer did not look like that when it was loaded, indicating that mishandling occurred during transit. I find it unacceptable that my printer was treated in such a careless manner, especially considering the clear instructions provided on the packaging. The Courier Guy should take responsibility for the negligence and mishandling of my package, as well as for the damage caused to my printer. The packaging of my package should have been mentioned upon collection and the driver/collector should have disagreed to take collection should the package not have been up to standard. However, he did take collection and therefore you T’s and Cs of the packaging cannot be used against me. There was no indemnity form supp**** to us and the option for a electronic device was selected(one would assume that extra care would be placed. I would also like to mention that the packaging makes no difference in this situation as regardless of what the printer was packaged in, if you turned it to the side or upside down ( which I assume would be the case, if placed in a box that you cannot see through, to read the fragile instructions) it would case an ink spillage due to the sealed caps having pressure app**** to them and opening by force. I have attached photos of the packaging and special instructions for your reference. I urge you to address this matter urgently and provide a resolution for the damaged printer. As a loyal customer who spends a significant amount of money with The Courier Guy each month, I expect better treatment and handling of my parcels.

To my surprise they send back an email from an up and coming lawyer stating that they have a " no liability" clause and therefore they basically do not wish to know anything more about my issue.

There is a big difference between negligence and liability.

I would NOT recommend their services. My printer is still in their possession for over two months ( after they sent a "lawyers letter" stating they will not take accountability. Not only have they damaged my R5500 printer but have still not returned it to me.
