Very unfortunate events

This is so sad to write a review like this, unfortunately we didn’t completely enjoy our stay. Sharon the hostess is very nice or so we thought. We arrived on Friday afternoon to be greeted by Sharon. She showed us the facility and told us all we need to know. She was wonderful and very helpful. After she showed us around and also helped us with our baggage we wanted to go for a swim in The “private pool” and sit on the deck that was not as private as advertised. The room was beautiful at first sight. So we went for a swim and cooked our meat on the braai then went back to our room and ate. We first saw a huge spider behind the portrait in the kitchen cause his legs was sticking out. Now we both have a huge fear of spiders so I sent Sharon a message for help. Then we started seeing lots of big ones on the roof and behind the other portraits it was like the room was invested with spiders. Now before I continue, we know harties has spiders but we have been staying in harties a couple of times and never even saw one spider because the owners made sure that the place was fumigated. So I do however suggest that she fumigates the place so she won’t have another problem like that again. So long story short we grabbed all our stuff and ran to the car and told Sharon we are leaving because I don’t think anyone would sleep in a spider infested room. She did apologize to us and said she will give us a refund. We left in peace just before 21:00. It was supposed to be a special weekend for my husband and myself and no person would just leave a place that time of night to drive back to gauteng just because we wanted to be funny. It was a very unfortunate situation. The next day I sent Sharon and message to ask how she was doing and what details she would need from me to pay the refund (because se said out of her own she is going to give us a refund for the inconvenience) then she started being nasty saying it was our fault and we left because of our phobia and it wasn’t her fault. She couldn’t help that there were spiders in the room. Now I completely agree with her she couldn’t help if there were just a spider or two. But an infested room full of spiders? I don’t really know who would sleep in a room like that. She has all the excuses in the world about why she is not giving us the refund she suggested to give back. So I would not recommend anyone to stay there, because if anything goes wrong she will just deny it and say it's your fault and you would lose your money. We didn’t even expect a full refund just at least R1400 out of the R1815 we paid because it sure as hell also wasn’t our fault. We had friends that also wanted to go there but we warned them and I will also warn others. Go at your own risk, she is a great host only until she need to pay for her own mistakes.
