DO NOT use The Cool Guys for inverter system

We contracted The Cool Guys to install a 5kv inverter system for us. We paid them up front and they installed the system on 20 September 2022. They told us that we can run the entire house excl stove and geyser, and we were satisfied with that. That Does not happen, we have to switch off all the fridges (bought a new A++ rated fridge), and we just make 2 hours, if only 1 computer is on. We complained from the beginning and were told to switch off stuff, so why do we have the inverter?

My husband and I have been sending them WhatsApp’s, videos and messages, my husband has called and left messages to which they haven’t responded since 1 Feb 2023

This is a letter we sent them on 2 February , and we have still not had a reply:

Our system was installed in September 2022 and has not worked correctly from the start. Despite all our complaints last year, you never attended to them.

You did attend to it when you returned to work in Jan 2023, and found that a battery and cable were burnt. You replaced it with different batteries, that only lasted 22 mins, and then replaced it with the same batteries that you had the first time (the ones that burnt)

This system is NOT working correctly. You told me on the phone that we would be able to run the entire house, except for the stove and geyser for 4 hours. This does not happen. We have to switch off fridges (after buying a new fridge and switching off the deep freeze permanently) and if all 3 computers run, we cannot even get 2 hours on the system

We have checked and at least there is not another burning battery yet

I also told you that the breaker on the DB makes a noise, which is not normal or correct, also told Anthony this, when he was here. I don’t know if he replaced it, but it is still making that sound.

Please call John to discuss how you are going to fix this system so that it works, or remove your system and refund us.
